Evening in Beijing: Acrobatics Show & Authentic Peking Duck Dinner
Your evening begins with a hotel pickup between 4:00 PM by your English-speaking tour guide, kicking off a night of thrilling performance and unforgettable flavors.
First, enjoy the world-famous Chinese Acrobatics Show—a dazzling spectacle that has captivated audiences for over 2,000 years. Born from the rhythms of daily life and ancient labor, Chinese acrobatics evolved into a refined art form that unites physical mastery with mental focus. Watch in awe as performers execute heart-stopping feats: Lion Dance, Tight-Wire Walks, Hoop Diving, Wushu, Cycling Stunts, Meteor Juggling, Spring-Board Acrobatics, Traditional Conjuring, and breathtaking Gymnastics on Double-Fixed Poles. With perfect balance, split-second timing, and immense strength, this family-friendly show is a must-see highlight of any Beijing visit.
After the show, head to the legendary Quanjude Restaurant for an authentic Peking Duck dinner—a dish with roots in China’s imperial past. First mentioned in a 1330 imperial cookbook and perfected during the Ming Dynasty, Peking Duck became a staple of royal banquets. Quanjude, founded in the 19th century, is famed for its hung oven roasting method, using fruitwood to render ducks with crisp, glossy, reddish-brown skin and tender meat.
Your duck is carved tableside in the traditional three-part presentation: first, the crispy skin served with sugar and garlic dip; next, the meat and skin wrapped in warm steamed pancakes with spring onions, cucumber sticks, and sweet bean sauce (or hoisin); and finally, the remaining carcass, often prepared into a fragrant soup, stir-fried with sauce, or seasoned with Sichuan pepper and salt. Some tables may also feature pickled watermelon radish for a refreshing contrast.
Dating back to the Yuan Dynasty and refined over centuries, this culinary masterpiece is more than a meal—it’s a living piece of Chinese heritage.
After this rich blend of performance art and gastronomic tradition, you’ll be comfortably transferred back to your respective hotels, carrying memories of Beijing’s brilliance—both on stage and on the plate.
